The Ugly Duckling

THE UGLY DUCKLING has been chosen for this year’s production by the pupils of the Sharon Rennie School of Dance.

This reasonably short programme of dance makes the show ideal for young children to attend.

The storyline follows the fairy tale of a young duckling that grows up to be a beautiful swan.

This swan is danced by Hannah Eves who thrilled many with her lead performance in last year’s production of Sleeping Beauty. The youngest swan is beautifully danced and acted by nine year old Emily Harper in her first solo performance. The young growing swan is capably danced by Pieta Radovanovich.

Other lead roles are Winter performed by Jordan Silcock,  Mother Duck by Megan Smit . Beccy Davidson and Alexandra Henderson excel as the farmer and his wife.

Dancers from three years upward perform and as usual a large group of adults feature in the show.

Costumes are eyecatching with golden ducklings, butterflies and rabbits through to swans and snowflakes.

Do not miss this enchanting performance.
